The Sociedad de Biología Celular de Chile (SBCCH, Chilean Society for Cell Biology) is a nonprofit membership organization of researchers studying the cell. The Society’s objectives are to advance and develop the discipline of cell biology in Chile and to provide a forum to promote research and education in biology and biomedical sciences. The SBCCH is open to all scientists, students, teachers, and technicians from universities and research institutions interested in cell biology and associated disciplines.

The Society was established in 1978 as a section of the Sociedad de Biología de Chile. What began as a small group of enthusiastic individuals has now grown to be one of the largest associations of professional biology researchers and students in Chile.

The aims are primarily accomplished through the Annual Meeting, where the Society provides a rich environment for students and young scientists to exchange ideas and scientific findings with local and internationally renowned scientists, as well as providing career opportunities.
